This will take a long time, but can be done progressively in small pieces.

@PatrykMis how open are you to new contributions being in Kotlin btw? (I imagine there is value in staying relatively close to the original codebase to simplify future rebasing, but new contributions in Kotlin should have relatively minor impact on that)

I think rewrite to Kotlin at all is good idea for easier code writing and the code to be safer itself. But first of all, all unnecessary checks, code deprecations etc. should be removed (correct me if I am wrong).

@Stvad absolutely opened.

If there will be more interest, I have nothing against making completely new screen reader but just on TalkBack bases. Google from 2020 (pushed to Github by May 2021) didn't make any big step in upstream development.

Despite old and buggy code, one thing I like in TalkBack is using pure Android SDK without translation layers like Xamarin, LUA, Flutter or other strangers.
