It is a bit limited in the sense that it cannot handle anything else that datagrams. Let's flag it like this to prevent using unsupported features such as scan/beacons handling. The gpiod_export() and gpiod_unexport() shouldn't be used in the code, GPIO sysfs is deprecated. That said, simply drop the stray call.
