How to unit test promises

Hey,
This is probably a noob question, but I can't get it to work with the usual asyncio testing.
How would I effectively test something like this? Im currently using unittest with nose

my_promise_module.get("something").then(lambda res: self.assertTrue(isinstance(res, int)))
