I would propose to use the model with -latest suffix as HAIKU_35 and maybe remove the public const HAIKU_35 = 'claude-3-5-haiku-20241022'; entirely then?

good one, was thinking about how to handle subversions of models as well, but if we'd use HAIKU_35 = 'claude-3-5-haiku-latest' we wouldn't need to care about changes here: if Anthropic changes were the pointer is going, we would go with that change. that's simple and honest. i like that.
users can pin a specific version themselves.
