It seems that people have widely different experiences of being the target of abuse on Mastodon. I'd like to be sure that this group's efforts reflects the concerns of people who are actually having the most problems with the lack of solid and effective trust and safety mechanisms.

Mekka Okereke has written a lot about this on his timeline, at least over the last 4 or 5 months.

Anyone is welcome to join the Social Web Incubator Community Group and contribute to this effort, and I'd encourage people with experience to contribute — we need the diversity of the fediverse represented within these efforts.

e.g., for reply control, there's now issue #10, which I'd received numerous comments on, but hadn't yet written up because I was waiting to figure out if it's really something we can do within the scope of this taskforce.

If there's specific people who have the time to contribute I'd be interested in hearing from them and/or encouraging and helping them to contribute.

For what it's worth, I've also added in additional documents to this repository, including the code of conduct (which is the W3C's Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct), to ensure that there is safety for contributors.
