Screenshare of a vertical screen is not shared correctly

  1. install xdg-desktop-portal-wlr
  2. on a 90 degree rotated screen: swaymsg output DP-8 transform 90
  3. open firefox and browse https://mozilla.github.io/webrtc-landing/gum_test.html
  4. share your vertical screen
  5. you should see that your screenshare is 90 degree rotated

Can confirm for firefox and chromium based browsers. But it works as expected on OBS.

Tested with various backends.

The portals xdg-desktop-portal-

• cosmic (iced)
• gnome (GTK 4)
• hyprland (Qt 6)

all exhibit this same behavior. OBS transformation works, webRTC transformations do not.

I have my screen flipped upside down and have the same issue where the screen is flipped when sharing through firefox or chromium based browsers, but is fine in OBS.

I'm running arch with xdg-desktop-portal-wlr and -gtk as the fallback.
