Fail to connect to a new reader using Bluetooth on SDK 3.7.0 #473

Summary

The first time attempting to connect to a new reader over Bluetooth that has not yet paired with an Android device will crash with a NoClassDefFoundError after tapping on the "Pair" button in the system pairing dialog.

However, subsequent attempts to connect to it again will work as normal.

Any supported OS version.

Impacted devices (Android devices or readers)

  • Stripe Reader M2
  • BBPOS WisePad 3
  • BBPOS Chipper 2X BT

SDK version

3.7.0

Other information

This is been actively investigated and will be resolved in an upcoming version.

Resolved in version 3.7.1.
