1. Please describe the feature you are requesting.
   In order to ease development of client applications it would be very useful to be able to start "bookkeeper localbookie" or even "bookkeeper standalone" on a Windows machine with "Git bash" or "cygwin"

   Are you currently using any workarounds to address this issue?

   The first problem is usually that in windows the JAVA_HOME env variable contains spaces and the script break.
