atandf

Compute the arctangent (in degrees) of a single-precision floating-point number.

Usage

var atandf = require( '@stdlib/math/base/special/atandf' );

atandf( x )

Computes the arctangent (in degrees) of a single-precision floating-point number.

var sqrtf = require( '@stdlib/math/base/special/sqrtf' );

var v = atandf( 0.0 );
// returns 0.0

v = atandf( 0.5 );
// returns ~26.57

v = atandf( 1.0 / sqrtf( 3.0 ) );
// returns ~30.0

v = atandf( 1.0 );
// returns 45.0

v = atandf( Infinity );
// returns 90.0

v = atandf( NaN );
// returns NaN

Examples

var uniform = require( '@stdlib/random/array/uniform' );
var logEachMap = require( '@stdlib/console/log-each-map' );
var atandf = require( '@stdlib/math/base/special/atandf' );

var x = uniform( 100, -1.0, 1.0, {
    'dtype': 'float32'
});

logEachMap( 'atandf(%0.4f) = %0.4f', x, atandf );

C APIs

Usage

#include "stdlib/math/base/special/atandf.h"

stdlib_base_atandf( x )

Computes the arctangent (in degrees) of a single-precision floating-point number.

float out = stdlib_base_atandf( 0.0f );
// returns 0.0f

out = stdlib_base_atandf( 0.5f );
// returns ~26.57f

The function accepts the following arguments:

  • x: [in] float input value.
float stdlib_base_atandf( const float x );

Examples

#include "stdlib/math/base/special/atandf.h"
#include <stdio.h>

int main( void ) {
    const float x[] = { 1.0f, 1.45f, 1.89f, 2.33f, 2.78f, 3.22f, 3.66f, 4.11f, 4.55f, 5.0f };

    float v;
    int i;
    for ( i = 0; i < 10; i++ ) {
        v = stdlib_base_atandf( x[ i ] );
        printf( "atandf(%f) = %f\n", x[ i ], v );
    }
}
