Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

*Start Spyder (on MacOS)
*Set up a number of tabs with medium-sized files.
*Quit Spyder
*Start Firefox
*Start Spyder
*Switch to Firefox and browse while waiting for Spyder to finish starting up and restoring all tabs.
*Spyder keeps interrupting browsing by switching to itself every single time it loads a new file.

Hey @ElaborateDesigns, thanks for reporting. This seems to be a problem but only if you have many files opened in Spyder (perhaps more than 20?). I tested with a smaller amount and Spyder starts relatively quickly that I can't even switch to another window before it finishes to load.

Since this issue hasn't been reported before, it occurs under specific circumstances and we have more pressing things to do, I'm afraid we'll have to leave it for someone in the community to tackle it, sorry.

Gitter is not a good place to report bugs.
