Marlin Firmware is the most popular 3D printer firmware in the world, and one of the most active open source projects on Github.

As the primary maintainer of Marlin I spend my days…

  • Developing new Marlin features,
  • Fixing bugs,
  • Integrating your contributions, and
  • Writing documentation.

Developing the next version of Marlin is a full-time job, and I am entirely funded by charitable contributions. If you or your company benefits from Marlin development, please consider becoming a sponsor. GitHub will be matching your donations for the entire first year of this sponsor program!

@thinkyhead

The everyday maintenance of Marlin Firmware, example configurations, Auto Build, and the website add up to a full time job, but I want to do so much more than ordinary spacetime will allow. I need to build test rigs and run a regular checklist, update documentation, write a manual, produce photo, graphical, and video content to accompany the written documentation, finish the Configurator for Auto Build, finish the Simulator, and attack a long checklist of refactors and improvements to user experience. (Also, I need to do better at maintaining your humble maintainer.) This goal is intended to launch these initiatives into space and expand on all these efforts with more local involvement. Please chip in if you can!

Marlin is under development 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and it takes up all my days and nights just to keep up.
