Help me by supporting the development of EO-Tools, a Python toolbox designed to lower the barrier to Earth Observation data processing for a range of environmental applications—like monitoring earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, and agriculture, among others!
EO-Tools provides an all-in-one Python-native solution that does not depend on external software or languages, enabling seamless integration with modern geospatial tools like GeoPandas, Rasterio, and Xarray. Its modular API allows both beginners and experts to build custom workflows, without needing complex format conversions. The tool uses geotiffs and provides lookup tables for geocoding any radar raster, facilitating ease of use and flexibility. When necessary, the software uses multithreading and Just-in-Time (JIT) compilation via Numba to optimize performance, allowing it to run efficiently on desktop machines.
In the long term, EO-Tools will expand to include the processing of other sensors, such as Sentinel-2 (already available in a basic form) and Landsat. However, the current focus remains on Sentinel-1 SAR, where the algorithmic complexity is greater, making it a priority for development efforts. This continued expansion will further enhance the tool’s utility in geospatial research and applications.
