Open Source and Me.

The concept of open sourced software was eye opening to me. I grew up thinking that when I come up with a new idea, I need to protect it, and then sell it. Shortly after getting into programming I found that plenty of other software developers operate under the principle that it's better to work together... through open source. I do think closed source software has its place in this world, but open source has been a primary focus of mine over the last few years. There's nothing quite like seeing other people read, critique, learn from or even make use of the code and software you write. I love writing code, and developing software. I choose open sourced because, well, why work alone when we can all work together.
