I am currently a computational astrophysicist by profession. I am a champion of open-research practices and sustainable research software. In my many years of developing research software, I have come to prioritise user-experience and maintainability over all else. However, I try to maintain a balance with performance, especially in the context of climate change and the astronomical communities enormous carbon footprint from HPC.
My most popular open-source package is Corrfunc - a package that computes a histogram of pair-wise separations. Written in C
with python
wrappers, that code-base is the de-facto standard for computing correlation functions across the international astronomical research community. If you are academically inclined, the two associated papers are here and here.
If you are a member of a marginalised community (in Astro or in Tech), please reach out via email or pings on GitHub - I will do my best to help with coding issues.
