Hi! We're the original developers of gitea-group-sync, an open-source tool designed to automate group synchronization in Gitea. Whether you're small company or a large organization, our project allows you to set up an automatic sync of your LDAP user group membership to Gitea.

Why is this needed?

Unfortunately, Gitea does not have LDAP group membership synchronization built in. However, it is a must-have for an organization that manages user access from a centralized directory service. The aim of this project is to provide this necessary automation to users of Gitea.

Why We Need Your Support

Organizations using Gitea really need this project to be alive. It saves them a great deal of time and eliminates the need to manually manage group membership in multiple locations. However, maintaining it requires time, resources, and effort. There are a lot of great forks of this project with many interesting changes. What is needed is for someone to organize and merge all the work into a single primary repository. Additionally, with your support, great many other new features can be added, bugs fixed and improvements made.

Unfortunately, we (the original developers of this project) struggle to dedicate time without proper funding. Of course, we welcome any time that can be donated for the project by capable people and there is definitely a lot of work done in the forks, however, we haven't seen much interest in helping run the main project. So, the only successful course of action that we see is one in which the main project is funded.
