About Surge

Most download managers are bloated, outdated, or impossible to script. We built Surge to fix that.

Our goal isn't just speed. We want to build a download manager that matches the top speeds of paid tools while looking great, offering full scripting support, and packing in the features power users actually need.

We are just two CS students building Surge in between classes and exams. We love working on this, but maintaining a project of this scale takes time and resources.

Where the money goes:

  • Publishing the Extension: We want to pay the Chrome Web Store developer fee so you can install the Surge extension officially. (No more sideloading!)
  • Debrid Integration: To build native support for Debrid services, we need active subscriptions to actually test the code.
