Friction Drag Coefficient off by a factor of roughly 2 #13

The biggest discrepancy in the drag model seems to be the friction drag coefficient, and it appears to be off by a factor of roughly 2

Possible sources of error:

  • Approximation used for nose cone wetted area
  • Reynolds Number calculation

After implementing a fin planform area which extends into the body tube, the skin friction drag is closer to the OpenRocket value. However, this concept does not make sense and must be justified before including in the final results
