can anyone help me in connecting socket, because it's working in local but not connecting in live

I'm try to build a chat module in which their are many employee and they chat in between. As i follow all the step to connect the socket to the server and also link it from the client side , it's working correctly in local server, but as i make it live it shows me the error in connection of webSocket. How can i make it possible in live if any one knows
