how can i register keyevent to LineEdit?

ideally i want to register keyevent to lineedit without focusing, but since it's documented it will only accept keyevents when focused

i made it so it focuses right before sending event

however it doesn't work

i'd also like to see where callbacks are defined, does software backend even handles it?

focus virtual key-> press virtual key->focus lineEdit-> [dispatch event]->focus back

where [] is done in ffi, works, it's a bit hacky, also it doesn't show cursor on the LineEdit

how can i display the cursor while not focused?

What are you trying to achieve?
You can't call line_edit.key-pressed, but you can edit the line_edit.text property

if i edit line_edit.text it wouldn't handle backspace or arrows

i'm trying to make a virtual keyboard, that works with few numbers of physical buttons (the the ones you see on old printers)

since focus is being used to navigate between virtual buttons

i can't keep focus on LineEdit

i'll try focus virtual key-> press virtual key->focus lineEdit-> dispatch event->focus back to virtual key

as simon suggests dispatch_event directly to windows might work
