First of all, thanks a lot for your beautiful design and work! Great Job!

Describe the bug
I am not getting any long break at all even though it's set. Please also see the Suggestions / Improvements at the end.

To Reproduce
Provided screenshot.

Expected behavior
I'd like to have a 10 minutes break every 45 minutes. Ideally looked for 15 minutes break but your app is limited to 600 seconds.

Desktop

  • OS: [Pop!_OS 20.04 LTS]
  • Desktop Env [Gnome]
  • Version [3.36.8]

Suggestions / Improvements
As a programmer I'd like to work 8 sessions of 45 minutes a day with 15 minutes breaks in between.

  1. Change the Long Break Duration to Minutes instead of seconds.
  2. Allow the client to choose the number of sessions of work. (8 in my case)
This simple app is working as expected:

Me too. Same occupation. Same issue.

Ah, issue was that via the Software Manager, Mint installs v2.0.6 in which long breaks simply don't work due to a bug. Uninstalling that and installing the latest version (2.1.3) via the web site fixed it.
I didn't figure it out sooner because this is a timer app, so I foolishly thought that the most basic timer functionality would be working all the way back to v0.1. Maybe test a little next time before releasing?

@shhoppe thanks for reporting. Yeah sometimes bugs slip into new releases. I will be cautious next time.

@mrtabaa another reason for no long breaks can be idle time. If you are idle for a long time before a long break, the Smart Pause plugin may skip the next long break. Would you mind testing the behavior with the Smart Pause plugin disabled?

I like your idea of breaking the time into sessions. You can achieve this by customizing the break interval and duration but I understand the complexity. I will give it a thought.

Jumping in to report that this may be an issue still. I removed my previous comment detailing how to recreate the issue because it was actually recreating core behavior - skipping the next long break if the SafeEyes is disabled for longer than the duration of that break.

It looks like it is. I'm experiencing the same problem: no long breaks at all. Short breaks work fine (I have them ever 20 min), but long ones (every 60 min in my case) never happen. I'm using version 2.1.5 on Linux Mint Debian Edition 6, with Cinnamon desktop.
I will be happy to provide any details to solve this. And thanks for the app anyway!

Is this still valid with v2.2.1?

I cannot reproduce on Arch Linux + KDE 6.1.3 in Wayland
