FlashGrid is an addon (a.k.a extension, plugin) for the popular flashcard program Anki. It adds the ability to drill by selecting from a grid (similar to the grids used in Rosetta Stone or Vocabulary Manager). It displays the Front of the card on the left, and a grid of card Backs on the right. Clicking on the correct card in the grid is equivalent to clicking on Show Answer in Anki.
Please check out the Screenshots page first to see what FlashGrid provides and how it should look.
TIP: If you've not used Anki before, please get comfortable with it first so you'll understand what Anki does and what the addon does--especially if you encounter any issues.
-
Anki: http://ankisrs.net/#download (Choose a desktop version for Windows, Mac, or Linux.)
-
FlashGrid addon: In Anki, under Tools > Add-ons, paste in the number 260884383 (https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/260884383). This location's first version was v0.17. If you had previously downloaded it from the original location, 1696860493 (https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/1696860493), the last version there was also v0.17. For future upgrades, use the new number; if that does not work, uninstall (see below) and then install with the new number. (After installing any add-on, restart Anki.)

Shared decks: https://ankiweb.net/shared/decks/images
-
FlashGrab addon, for one-way sync from XML; e.g. FLEx/WeSay users can use FlashGrab to pull data from their lexicon: https://github.com/sillsdev/flashgrab
-
FlashFork addon, for copying decks of cards, with options for also cloning (or not cloning) their shared settings.
To uninstall, go to %USERPROFILE%/documents/Anki/addons
on your computer (you can paste that into Windows Explorer; on Linux the path usually begins with a tilde, ~). Move "flashgr.py" and the "flashgrid" folder to a different location (don't just rename them). Once you're sure you don't need the old version anymore, simply delete them. (All your data is stored elsewhere.)
