Bug description

Describe here the issue that you are experiencing.

App instantly crashes after opening Signal 7.29

Steps to reproduce

  • using hyphens as bullet points

  • list the steps

  • that reproduce the bug

  • Update to the latest Signal version / Download Signal for the first time

  • Open app

Actual result: Describe here what happens after you run the steps above (i.e. the buggy behaviour)
Instantly crashes

Expected result: Describe here what should happen after you run the steps above (i.e. what would be the correct behaviour)
The app should function and not crash

App segfaults directly on launch (wonder if it's since 7.29, because I had iOS 18 and an older version of Signal for a couple of days on my old phone), have posted an IPS-file on an issue I created a couple of days ago about the same thing: #5875

Happening to me too, been like this since a week and can't do anything about it, please fix it.

Please check my original bugreport, perhaps you (@cram0 @SAN1TAR1UM @xoela) have the same issue: #5875. In short: Recheck if your phone really is on the latest build of iOS 18.
