Bug description

Some of my contacts have high-resolution avatars and signal uses a huge portion of my screen to display them with libnotify notifications. Users without avatars seem fine (a little large but still reasonable). I think it may be related to my unusual WM (awesome WM).

Steps to reproduce

  1. Use awesome WM (I haven't tested the app with any other WM yet)
  2. Get a notification while the signal-desktop window is not focused

Expected result:
Sender avatar should be of a reasonable size.

Actual result:
Sender avatar is huge.

Same here with Signal 1.12.0 on Arch+awesome WM
I have a 12.5" screen and long messeges take up the entire upper half of the screen.

Exact same thing here. Ubuntu 16.04 (laptop and desktop) and Awesome WM.

This might actually be a libnotify issue. Rambox has the same problem.

Just dropping in to say I'm on 18.04 now (and Awesome WM) and it's still happening.
