Bug description

Double- and triple-click text selection does not work properly with emoji.

Steps to reproduce

  • send a message with some or all emoji
  • double-click to select word or triple-click to select all

Actual result: Selection almost never works at all, and when it does, doesn't select all / select "word" as expected
Expected result: Multi-click text selection should work properly with emoji

Platform info

Operating System: Linux
Browser: Chromium 58
Signal version: 0.38.2

This is still an issue in Electron 1.0.29.

I find that if I click on the text part of the message, triple-click does indeed capture the emoji along with the message text. You're essentially asking for double- and triple-click on the emoji itself to behave just like clicking the text, right?

Correct. Including on all-emoji messages. Obviously not a huge priority but maybe it's easy?
