The blog post on whitelisting based selective sync in dropbox discusses the limitation of the whitelisting script proposed as a solution wherein data is added locally results in Partial sync, Partial blacklisting.
This limitation could be overcome by allowing data added locally to be synced to the dropbox account and then blacklisting it. This would require whitelisting newly added data for the time it takes to sync completely and then blacklisting it to rid locally.
