• Frost - Frost is a Freenet 0.7 client that provides newsgroup-like messaging, private encrypted messages, file upload and download functionality and a file sharing system.

• Freesites Insertion Wizard - a java utility with AWT GUI for inserting freesites (DBR, Edition, FEC support).

• FMS (Freenet Messaging System) - A spam-resistent message board application for Freenet

FreeNet Plugin

• FreeMail - An E-Mail system built on top of Freenet.

• FLIRCP - Freenet Lightweight IRC Plugin is a re-implementation of FLIP with the advantage of being a plugin, not a standalone application.

• FlogHelper - a tool for publishing blogs in Freenet ("flogs"). Included as official plugin.

• Freekiwiki - Wiki over Freenet. Does not work anymore.

• freenet-plugin-bare-guide - guide for implementing a Freenet plugin.

• Freetalk - a forum system built on top of Freenet.

• Fritter - a program that supports Twitter-style microblogging over Freenet. It is designed to be very simple, both to use and to implement, very fast, and support anonymous, censorship-resistant speech thanks to the underlying Freenet architecture. You need Freenet to access the link to it.

• Gitfreenet - allows Mercurial and Git clients to store and retrieve repositories using Freenet. Not finished yet.

• InfoCalypse - an extension for the distributed revision control system Mercurial. It uses an optimized structure to minimize the number of requests to retrieve new data, and allows supporting a repository by securely reuploading most parts of the data without requiring the owner's private keys

• Jfniki - Wiki over Freenet.

• Jsite - a tool that uploads websites from a local directory into Freenet.

• KeyUtils, formerly KeyExplorer - a tool for looking at the low-level data of [[Freenet Keys|Freenet-Key]]. Officially included.

• Library - a search engine for searching Freenet sites. Officially included.

• ShareWiki - an unofficial plugin for the fast creation of small freesites. It is a modification of ShareLink. Tutorial

• Shoeshop - utilities and helpers for sneakernet: export files and sites as fblob, import fblobs.

• Sone – A social network implementation à la Facebook.

• ThawIndexBrowser - a tool for looking at file lists which were uploaded by [[Thaw]]. Officially included.

• UPnP2 - allows Freenet to contact your router to discover its IP address and open the required UDP ports. Full rewrite of the original UPnP plugin.

• Web of Trust|Web-Of-Trust - a collaborative spam filter framework for building other apps on top. Used by FlogHelper, Freetalk, Freemail, Sone. Officially included.

• WoTNS - Web of Trust Name Service aims at building a DNS like service on top of Freenet. Could be superseded by implementing shortest unique nickname generation at Web of Trust.

• XMLSpider - deprecated crawler which served as backend for the Library search engine.

I2P

The Invisible Internet Project (I2P) is an anonymous network layer (implemented as a Mix Network) that allows for censorship-resistant, peer to peer communication

General networking

• I2PTunnel : I2PTunnel is a tool for interfacing with and providing services on I2P

• SAMv3 : Simple client protocol for interacting with I2P.

• BOB : Simple client protocol for interacting with I2P but technically different of SAM

• Orchid : The Crypto Powered VPN - The Orchid network enables a decentralized virtual private network (VPN), allowing users to buy bandwidth from a global pool of service providers. To do this, Orchid uses a new digital currency called OXT, a new VPN protocol for incentivized bandwidth proxying, and smart-contracts with algorithmic advertising and payment functions. Orchid's users connect to bandwidth sellers using a provider directory, and they pay using probabilistic nanopayments so Ethereum transaction fees on packets are acceptably low.

• Vuze : Vuze is the only client that makes clearnet torrents available on I2P and vice versa.

• Robert (P2P Software) - A fork of rufus that uses the Basic Open Bridge (BOB) and has many improvements, including using the latest wxwidgets and python. • Transmission : Clean, full-featured cross-platform BitTorrent client with official ports for several GUI toolkits.

• iMule - Free and open-source anonymous P2P file sharing utility which connects through the anonymous I2P network and the Kad network.

• Nachtblitz - It was a custom client built on the .NET Framework. The latest version is 1.4.27, released on March 23, 2016

• I2Phex - Anonymous Phex is a peer-to-peer file sharing client for the gnutella network.

• Tahoe-LAFS - Tahoe-LAFS is a Free and Open decentralized cloud storage system. It distributes your data across multiple servers. Even if some of the servers fail or are taken over by an attacker, the entire file store continues to function correctly, preserving your privacy and security. [Maintained in 2020]

• Susimail - Postman - Susimail is a web-based e-mail client for the I2P network.

• Bitmessage.ch - Service to connect Bitmessage with E-Mail without the need of any software

Publishing

• Syndie - an open-source cross-platform computer application to syndicate (re-publish) data (mainly forums) over a variety of anonymous and non-anonymous computer networks.

• Aktie - An anonymous file sharing and distributed Web of trust forums system. Aktie can connect to I2P with its internal router or use an external router. To fight spam, "hash payments" (proof of CPU work) is computed for every published item.

Routers

• i2pd - i2pd (I2P Daemon) is a full-featured C++ implementation of I2P client. - Github

• Kovri - Kovri is a C++ implementation of the I2P network. Kovri is currently in heavy, active development and not yet integrated with Monero. When Kovri is integrated into your Monero node, your transactions will be more secure than ever before.

Android

• Nightweb - Nightweb was an app for Android devices and PCs that connects you to an anonymous, peer-to-peer social network. It is written in Clojure and uses I2P and BitTorrent on the backend. Tor

Tor is an anonymizing TCP overlay network proxy implemented as a cryptographic mixnet.

Tor Software :

• Tor Browser - The Tor Browser automatically starts Tor background processes and routes traffic through the Tor network. Upon termination of a session the browser deletes privacy-sensitive data such as HTTP cookies and the browsing history

• Onion Browser - OpenSource IOS browser using Tor Network.

Retroshare

• retroshare - Retroshare establish encrypted connections between you and your friends to create a network of computers, and provides various distributed services on top of it: forums, channels, chat, mail... Retroshare is fully decentralized, and designed to provide maximum security and anonymity to its users beyond direct friends. Retroshare is entirely free and open-source software. It is available on Android, Linux, MacOS and Windows.
