I'm using ubuntu 24.04 with the german keyboard layout Neo 2. You can find the layout here.

Interestingly when typing all the keys work fine. All the higher layers to get () and such characters work fine.

Now when I want to input a special character such as Ctrl + C or Ctrl + R I need to type the key that is printed on the keyboard. This is not the same location as the key is in my keyboard layout.

This makes it really inconvenient to use the terminal as the muscle memory really gets in your way.
