Make thin plate splines compatible with datasets that have a scale other than (1,1,1)

A data layer rendered with a TSP renders differently when changing the scale of the dataset from (1,1,1) to something else. The scale should only result in a linear scaling, though, even when applying a non-linear transform, such as TSP.
