According to the Salt supported operating systems page of the Salt install guide, I was surprised to find that Debian 13 is not listed in the Overview of supported operating systems table, leaving the impression that Debian 13 should not be used.
However, if we scroll down the page to the Debian sub-section of the Full support policy by operating system section, the text there states that there is general support for:
The provided link says that Debian Trixie 13.3 is the current stable release.
Some of the GitHub issues I have read suggest that Debian 13 is being actively used with Salt by the community, suggesting there may be at least a reasonable effort support policy in place.
Debian 13 was released on August 9th 2025, almost six months ago at the time of writing. There have been a number of Salt releases since that time. Is it officially fully supported by the Salt project?
Either way, I think the documentation needs an update.
