💡 Feature description

I want to be able to debug optimization, but the current --dev flag disables optimization and enables debugging

💻 Basic example

In order to be backwards-compatible, a flag dev-opt or dev-optimize would possibly be a good flag name.

Notes

If a maintainer approves this, I don't mind implementing this myself.
