on i586-unknown-linux-gnu

How can I bless the output on a platform I don’t build for? Should I just update based on the failure text?

@jonas-schievink
Copy link
Contributor

jonas-schievink commented Jun 5, 2020

./x.py test --stage=1 <path> --target i586-unknown-linux-gnu --bless should work if you can at least cross-compile to that target

@mati865
Copy link

mati865 commented Jun 5, 2020

If you cannot cross compile for that target you will have to add --bless to the Dockerfile and run the container (which is very time consuming on slower machines).

RalfJung commented Jun 5, 2020

Looks like any 32bit target should do it. But if you are on macOS that could still be tricky.

I’m officially stumped. The 32 bit and 64 bit builders want to change the hashes in conflicting ways and the magic placeholder doesn’t appear to work.

Ah, that's because I have to update the magic — it's not actually as magic as it looks.
