Classes: documentation for classes

Right now classes aren't mentioned in the reference or tutorial AFAIK. Fix that.

they're now covered in the tutorial, but only partially in the reference manual.

7eae204 adds documentation for classes to the reference manual. It could always be better, but I think it's good enough for now.
