How to disable automatic parenthesis insertion?

I'm running the latest rust-analyzer with rustup run stable rust-analyzer and for some reason, whenever I add a parenthesis around an expression, it decides to be "helpful" and adds a closing one at the end of the expression. This is extremely annoying, often incorrect and I would like to disable this feature.

Running rustup run stable rust-analyzer --print-config-schema I don't see any option to disable this feature. There's rust-analyzer.typing.autoClosingAngleBrackets.enable but it's only about closing brackets. I think it might be related to this PR: #15532

Please let me know how to disable this feature, and please do not add automated "features" that cannot be disabled. I use this tool to lint my code, I don't want it to get in my way and messing up my mental state when I am in the flow. Right now I have to work with LSP disabled because this feature keeps interrupting me while I'm trying to refactor my code.

rust-analyzer.typing.triggerChars is the config you are looking for, to disable all of those things you can set it to an empty string. The parenthesis are no longer a default for that though I imagine the stable version you are using still has it defaulted.

I don't know what --print-config-schema is, but assuming its something specific to your language client then yes that is likely the cause. Sounds like the config isn't being forwarded to rust-analyzer

--print-config-schema is a command line option of rust-analyzer... Which shows all the supported settings, and rust-analyzer.typing.excludeChars is not one of them, hence why your suggestion is not working.

So what I am saying my config IS being sent to rust-analyzer, as shows in my previous message, but it's not doing anything at all because none of those options seem to actually exist or to be implemented in v1.84.1

Oh I never realized we had that command. Well that command output has to show either of the two configs in it, can you put the output of it in a gist?
