This is latest libgit2-sys (0.8.1), latest rust (1.35) and latest git2 (0.28.2). And this is happening on all architectures.

Do you have git in your PATH somewhere? If so, which version? This test relies on command-line git being installed. The test suite should probably check that and print a helpful message if git is not found.
