... I wonder if there's an mdbook bug where it doesn't properly handle edition2018.... @rust-lang/rustdoc this should be the right syntax to get 2018 stuff, right?

I can reproduce the problem with rustdoc --test src/ch04-02-references-and-borrowing.md, so it doesn't involve mdbook at all.

I see the same unexpected behavior with stable (1.33.0 (2aa4c46cf 2019-02-28)) and beta (1.34.0-beta.1 (744b374ab 2019-02-26)) but nightly 350674b71 2019-02-28 works as I would expect.

I'm... not at all sure what fixed it, my best guess is rust-lang/rust#58627 ? rust-lang/rust@744b374...350674b

sigh. i dont really want to switch the version we're using for the whole book to nightly, especially because we're pinning at 1.31 for now, so i guess i'll ignore this example and leave a comment.
