Interfering with theme / tags outside of the notebook mode

Thanks for this code, it really improves the already amazing orgmode. I noticed that it is opinionated in regards to the current theming, it works well and looks great, but I wanted to keep my style if possible.

• Is there a way to disable theme interferences?
• If not, how would I go about getting the tags active while running org directly (without the mode)?

What kind of theme interferences exactly ? I guess it is possible to define extra faces to ease customization.

If I enable notebook-mode in my doom using an orgfile that I am working with, the code syntax coloring and toc fonts stop being recognized:

Sorry for delay. Coudl you make a minimal example showing the problem with a before/after screenshots ? It will be helpful to debug.
