Since it's been almost a year and Restlet 2.3.3 released, is this issue still applies ?

If not, does the NIO extension stabilized now ?

We are planning to rewrite & fully support asynchronous API call processing as part of our next RF 3 release, including a new IO layer based on Netty (we'll remove our internal NIO layer/extension):
