Actual Behavior

When I open Rancher Desktop, the "Administrative Access Required" window pops up, but after clicking OK, the password prompt window is not showing up like with previous versions. When I run docker-ps I get Cannot connect to the Docker daemon at unix:///var/run/docker.sock. Is the docker daemon running? I have a feeling these 2 issues are related to each other.

Hmm, how we do the prompt itself is unchanged from the previous version; we just changed the explanatory dialog. Could you get some more logs?

  • Start RD
  • Enable debug mode in the Troubleshooting page
  • Restart RD, and reproduce the issue
  • Upload the logs (you can find them using the button in the Troubleshooting page).
    Thanks!

Argh, there wasn't anything useful in the logs either :(

Let me poke at things a bit and see what else comes up.

Any update on this. have the same problem with version 1.5. Even reset and removing and re-adding of app did not help. Also using zsh not bash under osx 12.5 on m1mac as is now default
