Inconsistent rendering of markdown text in mermaid

Description

I am getting inconsistent results with lots of moving parts so apologies ahead of time for not providing a simple non-working example. Example mermaid markup is below though. I'm hoping someone can point me to a way to debug this. The setting is my Quarto-based blog https://fharrell.com . When I run quarto render I usually get great mermaid output with long text strings nicely wrapped. But after recompiling a number of times, the rendering is consistently off with text not wrapping properly, text extending outside boxes, etc. Any ideas? Thanks.

Unfortunately Quarto doesn't control how Markdown is rendered inside mermaid, so it's not something Quarto devs can really help you with. Your HTML should have the input that Mermaid uses (since those charts are typically generated at runtime in HTML), and from there you might be able to find a pure-mermaid reproduction that you can ask for help in the Mermaid forums.

Thanks very much. I'm going to use graphviz from now on. mermaid is too unreliable.

The upcoming release of the qreport package has a new function that constructs graphviz code from simple plain text strings, for directed flowcharts. It allows simple $\LaTeX$ HTML substitution for math. I intend to be free of mermaid going forward.
