Hey, thanks for the project! I wonder about one thing - why we don't have native git versioning for python packages - just like go modules - i don't know if packaging can be done better than that.

Hey @bukowa, your question isn't strictly related to this project. pypa/gh-action-pypi-publish only cares about the distributions that are built by something else. We only upload them but you can build tarballs+wheels using whatever works best for your specific project. If you want to have your lib use git-based versioning, you may want to take a look at https://github.com/pypa/setuptools_scm.

P.S. FYI You can create your own discussion pages if you have separate questions. This GitHub feature is still in Beta so feel free to also tell us if it works well for you :)
