Describe the bug a clear and concise description of what the bug is.

On accessing the prometheus dashboard and selecting a metric by using the dropdown/metrics explorer(globe icon towards to right side), it's noticed that the subsequent selections just get appended to the earlier selections rather than clearing and updating the field with the new selection.

v3.11.2

What's your kubectl version?

v1.26.4

Which chart?

kube-prometheus-stack

What's the chart version?

v45.4.0

What happened?

On accessing the prometheus dashboard and selecting a metric by using the dropdown/metrics explorer(globe icon towards to right side), it's noticed that the subsequent selections just get appended to the earlier selections.

What you expected to happen?

The subsequent selections made using the metrics exporer shouldn't be appended but rather updated with the latest selection entirely.
