Is it possible to have positron directly call R in the conda environment in WSL

Ah, check out the discussion in #4398, and specifically #4398 (comment). I don't believe we have a way for this to work currently, but please do add any additional information or use cases to that issue!

As a workaround, you can have Positron connect to your WSL environment and run R there. There's a third-party extension that enables this: https://open-vsx.org/extension/kv9898/open-remote-wsl

Thanks @jmcphers for recommending my extension. @lixiang117423 , I just tried using R in my WSL conda environment. The conda-R interpreter could not be discovered by Positron-WSL, as pointed out by #4398 . A workaround is that you manually add the conda R binary to the list like below. This is not very satisfactory but may be able to support your workflow at the moment.

@lixiang117423 @juliasilge I wrote PR #6888 for detecting conda R interpreters. Is the screenshot what you are after? I only tested it on Windows (I'm not sure how to test it on WSL), but I assume it should work?
