So I was gaming on a LMDE 6 / Windows machine. It ran pretty smoothly. I bought a bigger SSD and decided to drop Windows as I wasn't using it.
I found that my games wouldn't start on the new LMDE 6 install. I looked around for answers online but couldn't find anything that solved my issue.
I decided to try a different distro and read that Pop!_OS was good with Nvidia drivers and laptops (I have a laptop with Intel and Nvidia on it).
But I have the same issue here. One of the games I try to run, Sea of Thieves, has the Easy Anti-Cheat screen pop up and close like normal, then Steam shows the game running for a few seconds before showing that that I can press "play" again. So the game never starts really.
The only difference I made that I can think of is that with the two pure Linux installs I also encrypted the whole system.
Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS
Kernel: Linux 6.9.3-76060903-generic
Architecture: x86-64
Nvidia RTX 2060 " Intel i7 8th gen
Nvidia driver: 560.35.03
Using GE-Proton9-21
Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime is installed.
I'm pretty new to Linux so I'm not sure what to look for here.
