Question: remapping <esc-down> etc.?

Hi,

I am trying to map to always switch to RESIDENT.

Here's my .vindrc:

inoremap <alt-down> <f19>
ennoremap <f19> to_resident

It does not work, what am I doing wrong?

Also: is there a way to apply this to all modes automatically?

Sorry I have been so busy lately.

Mapping cannot cross modes except for macro.

What does it mean to "always switch to RESIDENT"? Do you mean the following settings?

inoremap <alt-down> to_resident
ennoremap <alt-down> to_resident

In the future, I'll add something that defines multiple modes at the same time without mode prefixes ike Vim (e.g. noremap).
