Allow configuring the default runtime mode

T3 defaults new threads to Full access. Auto is safer and works with managed Codex policies, but the only control is per-thread and hidden in the composer. Please add a global default runtime mode setting, or remember the last choice.

Fully agree that this should be a setting, the same goes for Claude which has basically the same Auto mode as Codex

Thanks for requesting a configurable default. The orchestrator V2 work has now merged in #2829.

V2 adds a persisted default runtime mode. Set the default permission mode in Settings > Project defaults so new threads start with your chosen mode instead of always using Full access.

Closing this as delivered. If a specific part is still missing in a build containing V2, please open a focused follow-up with the provider/version and the behavior you are seeing.
