Need to dedicate a page to vectorizing Newton's formulation. Probably will not use this in Schrödinger position (QM 0) to avoid confusion. Reason: vector notation for QM means something different than direction in 3D-space, since psi is not a) not observable, and b) not in R^3. I recall vaguely that vector elements for psi correspond to different quantum states, and therefore are of infinite-dimensional in cases where energy has no upper bound. I.e. infinite square well or quantum harmonic oscillator. This played an important role in QM1. |
