Description

Summary

The PHP downloads page can be improved to make it more user-friendly, clearer, and easier to navigate for beginners and developers.

Details

Currently, the PHP downloads page works well but can be confusing for new users who want to quickly find the correct PHP version for their system.

I suggest the following improvements:

  1. Add clearer labels for Stable, Security Fix, and Legacy PHP versions.
  2. Include a short description for each PHP version explaining who should use it.
  3. Improve mobile responsiveness so the page is easier to use on smartphones.
  4. Add a simple filter or selector (OS, architecture, version type) to quickly find downloads.
  5. Highlight the recommended version more clearly for beginners.

These changes would help new users, especially beginners, to download the correct PHP version without confusion and improve the overall user experience.

Additional context

No additional context at the moment. The suggestion is based on my experience using the PHP downloads page, especially on mobile devices.
