Feature request: directive & footnotes highlighting

Hello,

is there a way to add some custom highlighting for directives, so something like this ::youtube[Video of a cat in a box]{#01ab2cd3efg}? At the moment I mostly use a plain textarea for my Markdown stuff as I find true wysiwyg editors too distracting. So Overtype would be great for me cause it's mostly just highlighting. I do use a lot of these custom directives, tho, and would like for them to stand out a bit.

Added in v2.1.0! New setCustomSyntax() API lets you extend the parser:

OverType.setCustomSyntax((html) => {
  return html
    .replace(/\[\^(\w+)\]/g, '<span class="footnote">$&</span>')
    .replace(/::(\w+)\[[^\]]*\](\{[^}]*\})?/g, '<span class="directive">$&</span>');
});

Important: your processor must maintain 1-to-1 character alignment (wrap text, don't change it). See the custom syntax example for patterns.
