Actual:

• Neither the URL nor the text component of a markdown link can be clicked or navigated to.

Expected:

• The URL or the link text of a markdown link should be clickable and openable.

Open questions I can think of:

• Which half of a markdown link can open it: URL, text, or both
• Whether to mandate links always open in a new tab
• Whether it should require additional modifier key (ctrl? shift? alt?) to be held down to navigate (but this would be hard to do on mobile)
• Whether to confirm before opening, especially if no modifier key is required to follow (otherwise, how would someone tap inside of a URL on mobile to edit the URL, if it always forced a navigation)

Fixed in v1.1.1! ✅

Implemented Gmail/Google Docs style link tooltips:

• Move cursor into any markdown link
• Small tooltip appears below with the URL
• Click tooltip to open link in new tab
• Uses CSS Anchor Positioning (progressive enhancement)

The preview layer's pointer-events: none is intentional to maintain textarea functionality, so this tooltip approach gives the best of both worlds.
