We currently support importing plain .vcf files containing a single or multiple vCards.

There are other formats we should support (copied from the old contacts app):

  • Gmail .csv
  • Outlook .csv
  • Thunderbird .csv
  • Yahoo .csv
  • Gmail .vcf
  • Yahoo .vcf
  • any type of LDAP data

I'm honestly uncertain about this - we should not put top much features into this app.
The purpose of this app is simple contacts management - adding a hell of import converters will blow up the app again and result once again in an unmaintainable blob

my 2c - when I went to convert out of google, I ran into tons of issues with the Gmail csv import, so I just loaded them in via vcard anyways. Sure, I had to re-create my groups, but I think everything else was intact.

I'd just keep it at vcard data.
